The Adolescent Residential Treatment Program at Atlantic Shores Hospital provides long term treatment, schooling, and social rehabilitation for male and female adolescents ages 11-17.
Adolescents admitted to the residential treatment program are those that have consistent evidence of substance abuse, severe emotional disturbance, or significant behavioral dysfunction, resulting in an inability to flourish in normal settings.
Providing a structural framework by which residential students are assisted in achieving lasting change by way of facilitating consistent pro-social behavior and an improved sense of self. Daily programming includes:
- Individual counseling
- Group therapy
- Recreation therapy
- Family therapy
- Educational services
Critical to the success of any adolescent’s treatment is the involvement of the family, and, therefore, treatment goals are designed to address the needs of the individual adolescent within the broader family context.
